Casino Building
Avalon’s most distinctive landmark was built in 1929 and immediately became a sensation. The Moorish inspired art deco masterpiece contains a ballroom and movie theater as well as the Catalina Island Museum and the Casino Art Gallery.

Casino Dive Park
Southern California’s most popular scuba dive site thrills beginner to advanced divers with amber kelp forests, frolicking sea lions, graceful bat rays and hundreds of additional marine species.

Airport in the Sky
About 10 miles from Avalon, Catalina’s Airport in the Sky is open to the public and features the Buffalo Springs Station restaurant, a gift shop and a nature center as well as a general aviation airport.

Wirgley Memorial and Botanical GardenWrigley Memorial and Botanical Garden
Nestled at the top of Avalon Canyon, a little over a mile from Avalon, the Wrigley Memorial is a dramatic backdrop to the native plants and succulents in the botanical garden.

Descanso Beach
Just past the Casino Ballroom, the Descanso Beach Club features lunch and cocktail service on the sand as well as live music most summer weekends. Kayaking, snorkeling, volleyball and other activities are also available.

Chimes Tower
From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Avalon’s distinctive chimes sound the quarter hour. The tower, located on the hillside over looking the harbor, sports a colorful tile roof.

Tuna Club
Founded at the turn of the century, the Tuna Club is the birthplace of modern sportsfishing. The private club is not open to the public.

Catalina Island Yacht Club
This private club features a distinctive lighthouse tower and is one of the few buildings actually built over the water of Avalon Harbor.

Holly Hill House
In 1890, Peter Gano built his dream home on the hillside overlooking Avalon Bay. The result is this dramatic Queen Anne style cottage, which is one of Avalon’s oldest and most distinctive landmarks.

Inn on Mt Ada
The “Wrigley Mansion” was built by Island developer William Wrigley in the 1920s. He and his wife Ada entertained heads of state in this beautiful vacation home, which has since become a private bed and breakfast.

Lover’s Cove
Marine life abounds in this city-designated marine preserve where snorkelers and glass bottom boat passengers alike are able to experience the wonder of Catalina’s undersea gardens.

Pleasure Pier
Located in the center of town, Avalon’s green pier offers snackstands, a dive shop, tour operators and the perfect place for an evening stroll.

Catalina Island Golf Course
The oldest golf course in Southern California began life as a three-hole course in 1892. Although it is currently a nine-hole course, two sets of tees are offered for 18-hole play.

Zane Grey Pueblo
Famed Western writer and adventurer Zane Grey built this home overlooking Avalon Bay. Catalina Island was one of the author's favorite places.
